Question
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
Answer
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The ceremony will take place outside in the lawn. Reception to follow will be held inside the venue.
Question
Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?
Answer
While we do not have a dedicated hotel block for our guests, Rocky Mount has some lovely hotels in the area that are just minutes from the venue such as the Holiday Inn.

Are there other wedding events I can attend?
Answer
If you find yourself in town the night before the wedding, we will be at the Rocky Mount Mills celebrating! Please join us for a welcome party to kick off the weekend on Saturday May 21, 2022 at 5pm! The Rocky Mount Mills are located at 1151 Falls Rd, Rocky Mount, NC

What happens after the ceremony?
Answer
After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the cocktail hour where we will be serving finger foods and beverages.

What should I do if I can’t make it?
Answer
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive?
Answer
We recommend that you arrive a half hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Where should guests park? Is parking free?
Answer
There is dedicated parking for The Machaven guests behind the Carriage House which meets a paved parking lot by way of a gate that holds approximately 20 cars. There is limited street parking alongside the venue as well as a very large Public Parking lot located one block from The Machaven at 224 S. Franklin St., Rocky Mount.

Are kids welcome?
Answer
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
