We had just made the difficult decision to put down our dog, Pug just days before and we were both heartbroken and needed to get away for a bit. We had been talking about visiting a few of the vineyards in Fredericksburg so we settled on a quick trip there. I had no idea that Jeremy already had the ring. He called my mom to be sure she thought the timing would be okay since we’d just lost Pug and she agreed its just what we needed. He had originally planned to propose at Augusta Vin but when we passed Signor Vineyards I asked if we could make a stop there first because it was so pretty! We bought a bottle of rosé and enjoyed a glass before walking around where Jeremy found his spot. There was a musician outside playing one of my favorite songs by John Mayer on his guitar - pretty sure it doesn't get more perfect than that! While I went into the vineyard market to look around, Jeremy told his family he'd found "the spot" and ran to the car to get the ring. They kept me distracted inside and I had no idea what Jeremy was up to right outside! When we came out of the market Jeremy asked me to take a picture under this beautiful flower-covered archway where he proposed ("get down on one knee, knucklehead" - Jaime). It was a total surprise and I'm so grateful we have a recording that captured the moment.
