Question

What are you doing to mitigate the risk of spreading coronavirus and COVID-19?

Answer

Getting married during a global pandemic wasn't exactly on our to-do list, but here we are. We understand that not everyone feels safe attending a wedding in these times. Please do what makes you feel comfortable. We do not want our friends or family to feel pressured to take on additional risk. If you do choose to attend, we will be requiring our guests to wear masks any time they cannot social distance. The venue and catering staff will also wear masks during service. Dinner service will be at food stations and beverage service will be at a central bar. We have substantially reduced our guest count compared to what we had planned, but it is still a decent sized gathering with some guests traveling in from out of town. We know that our event is not without risk, and we promise we love you even if you can't celebrate with us in person!

Question

Should I wear a costume?

Answer

We wouldn't be getting married on Halloween if we had a problem with folks wearing costumes. Feel free to stick to cocktail attire if you're more comfortable that way, but, if you're so inclined, we would love to see our family and friends don their best costume for Halloween. Witches, vampires, fairies, werewolves, princesses, knights, skeletons, superheros, astronauts, cowboys, and more are welcome at our Hallowedding. There will be a coat rack for costumes and coats alike and an opportunity to change into costumes between the ceremony and reception.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. We love you and your kids (really!), but we want everyone to enjoy themselves without having to keep track of children all night. Therefore, we've decided to only have our nieces and nephews at the wedding. Take the night off and come celebrate with us!

Question

Will the wedding and/or reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The Savoy Ballroom has an indoor reception venue and an outdoor courtyard. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outdoors, but cocktail hour, dinner, and reception will take place inside. Late October weather in Missouri can be unpredictable, so make sure you dress warm enough to withstand mother nature for the duration of the ceremony. The courtyard has grass and stone portions, so keep that in mind when considering footwear.
