Question

Never been to a Catholic wedding?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate with you! For guests who may not have attended a Catholic wedding before, we wanted to share a little about what the ceremony will include. In the Catholic Church, marriage is one of the seven sacraments- a sacred covenant before God. During the ceremony, we will exchange vows and rings, receive a nuptial blessing as we begin our life together. Our ceremony will include three Scripture readings, a brief homily (reflection), prayers, and blessings. This will not be a full Mass, so Communion (the Eucharist) will not be distributed. The ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes. There will be moments when guests are invited to stand or sit, and you are welcome to participate as you feel comfortable-we’re just happy you’re there with us. Thank you for being part of such an important day in our lives!

Question

What is the dress code? What kind of shoes should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire! Please note that the reception will take place on grass, so choose your footwear with that in mind- or consider bringing a pair of shoes to change into after the ceremony. The dance floor will be a solid surface, so no need to worry there!

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited. If you received a plus one, they will appear on your invitation. Please ensure that you RSVP for you and your guest.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your kids, we have decided to make our wedding day an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone the opportunity to relax and fully enjoy the evening with us. Children of immediate family are included, as noted on the invitation. Thank you so much for your understanding!
