We met in 2022 at a concert through mutual friends and hit it off immediately. The funny part? Dustin thought Ali was dating one of his buddies, so he never imagined anything would come of it. As it turned out, she wasn't. The timing wasn't exactly ideal, though. Ali was selling her Colorado home and, shortly after meeting Dustin, contracted on a new home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. But after several months of long-distance dating, God had other plans. Ali and the kids moved back to Colorado to be with Dustin and Quintin. Since then, we've built a life filled with family, adventure, and plenty of memories—from the Bahamas, Hawaii, and Cancún to camping trips, road trips, and traveling the country for Adyson's cheer competitions. Eventually, Ali traded her corporate career for one that wouldn't require travel and allowed her to spend more time at home with Dustin and the kids. Today, it's rare to find one of us without the other nearby. We truly believe God brought us together, made us for each other, and gave us a life we love.
Dustin planned to propose in Kauai, Hawaii, during a helicopter tour that was supposed to land at the famous Jurassic Falls. But on the morning of the flight, bad weather canceled the trip. Ali was disappointed, convinced one of the highlights of the vacation had been ruined. What she didn't know was that Dustin had an engagement ring in his pocket and a proposal plan that had just fallen apart. But once again, God had a different plan. Later that day, on beautiful Anini Beach, Dustin got down on one knee and asked Ali to marry him. What started as a disappointing day quickly became one of the best days of our lives. The helicopter ride happened a few days later, and the rest of that story is equal parts hilarious and terrifying. If you haven't heard it yet, ask us in Mexico!
