26 years ago, two babies were born 31 days apart. The first of them, Ali Zerbe, and the second, Daniel Longshore. 18 years later, Ali headed to the University of South Carolina and Danny the University of Cincinnati. Ali’s vacati - - first couple weeks at USC came with the realization that everyone she loved was 8+ hours away and she knew she needed to change that. So, one week into classes at USC–while Danny backpacked through Europe with his sister Marla–Ali realized UC didn’t start for a couple more weeks, she had already been accepted, and she just so happened to know somebody who knows somebody at UC. Enter, angel, beauty, scholar, humorist, savior of Ali’s sanity and catalyst to Ali and Danny as we know them today, Gigi Escoe!! Gigi pulled some strings, got Ali’s portfolio in front of the right person, and BOOM! just like that, Ali was packed up and headed back to Cincinnati to start classes at UC on the same day as Danny. Although they can’t recall the exact date they met, it didn’t take long for their paths to cross. Fast forward to sophomore year, Danny told Ali about the UC Ski trip he was going on that year. A couple months later they, with a group of their friends, were in Breckenridge, CO. Ali continued to go on the ski trips but Danny was in co-op rotations over the next two winters. Finally, in 2014, Danny, Ali, and their friends ended up back on a mountain in Colorado and the rest is history! Ok, well, Cupid struck on that mountain, but neither Ali or Danny admitted it right away. Then it took a month to go on their first date. Then there were a lot of concerts, and another trip to the Colorado mountains and a race in Baja and many days on the lake and river and a stint in Louisville and lots of family gatherings and tons of love and laughter and then the rest was history. And now we are looking forward to celebrating the future with you all!
