Our ceremony will be held in an area that will require walking on a boardwalk. Please plan accordingly.
Cancun is a tropical climate. Temperatures during the date range between 80-90 degrees and drop to the high 70s in the evening. We can’t rule out any rain, but its not typical during this time.
We are hosting a Welcome Party at the resort on Thursday May 1st. The Ceremony & Reception will take place at the resort Friday May 2nd. Our room block is contracted starting Thursday May 1st - Monday May 5th and you are welcome to come and go anytime within that period. The Resort will typically honor our contracted room block rate up to 7 days before or after our Wedding Date (5/2) based on availability. Feel free to come early, stay late. Make it a fun vacation! Just a reminder that there is a minimum 3 night stay to receive our discounted room block rates.
We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, as we’d like that time to be unplugged.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for, and we know many of you are traveling far to celebrate with us—so please know that is more than enough! For those who wish to give a little something, we have a small registry on our website with a few items to help us start our life together, as well as a honeymoon fund that we would love to put toward unforgettable memories.

It is required that your passport be valid for an additional 6 months after the time of arrival. Please ensure your passport is valid before traveling. Passport application & renewal turnaround times range from 2-6 months. Don’t wait until the last minute!
The closest airport is Cancun International Airport and it is about a 30 minute drive to the resort. We strongly recommend pre-booking a shuttle service to/from the airport. The travel section of our website gives more details regarding shuttle services.
Yes! We understand that many of our family & friends have little ones and with it being a destination wedding, we hope that you may also turn this trip into a fun family vacation! The official currency of Mexico is the Mexican peso, although many resorts and shops accept USD. It’s still a good idea to convert at least some of your cash into local currency, as you may need smaller bills or coins if you’re souvenir shopping, for tipping, etc. In some cases, locals are not able (or are unwilling) to give you change in USD. Keep your money safe in a fanny pack, money belt, or in the safe in your room. When leaving the resort, only bring along the money you’ll need for the day. Tipping hotel staff is not mandatory but highly encouraged. MX Pesos are accepted along with USD. Hotel Tipping Guide: Bellmen/maintenance/room service delivery: $1-5 USD per service Bartenders: $1-2 per drink USD Sit down meal service: $5-10 USD dependent on party size
Yes! There are many fun, exciting things to do in Cancun including exploring the Mexican jungle, cenotes, & Mayan Ruins. Dreams Vista is within walking distance to a ferry that offers shuttles to/from beautiful Isla Mujeres. Paradise Weddings can assist in booking excursions, or you can find one of your own! *As it gets closer to our departure date, check the "things to do" tab for recommended excursions*
1. Don't get flustered at the airport! Many travelers tend to get flustered after claiming their bags. The airport is filled with workers trying to sell insurances, rented vehicles, excursions, etc. This can make the experience a stressful one early on. However, it is so easy to avoid all the hassle by simply saying “no, gracias”. 2. Don't drink unfiltered water from the tap. The drinking water isn’t as bad as other destinations and some hotels might make the claim that it’s safe. However, sticking to bottled water is the safest option and one a traveler is encouraged to follow. Bottled water is provided in your room and available at any bar. The ice from the resort is also properly purified and deemed as safe. 3. Please use caution when approached by sales folks at the hotel. They may attempt to sell you timeshares in exchange for resort credits of future vacations. Be cautious (unless you want that!) When in doubt, Carra & Ali can assist in answering any questions. Paradise Weddings are also a great resource for any travel needs.
