Answered Prayers

A&B 11/22/2026

Brett and Ali's love story began with a single swipe on a dating app, Tinder. Little did they know of the endless conversations, laughter, and adventure bound to happen next. Ali and Brett bonded most over shared experiences, their love for dogs and Disney, and their faith in the Heavenly Father. The timid couple eventually met one another on a blind date at Bulldog Burger, where the connection was inescapable- and not just because of the Lemon Drops. Brett finally made it official on July 30th, 2024. Then, like any love story came the turbulence- Ali moved to Lafayette in the middle of August, only 1 month later and well, long distance relationships… Let's just say they may not be too easy. Even so, thankfully it did not take too long before Ali and Brett figured out how to navigate the distance. As we all know, True Love prevails. The spark between Ali and Brett just would not dwindle. The lovestruck couple knew they were meant to be together. From face-time calls and sitting side by side in many movie theaters watching Twister and Lilo and Stitch (to name a couple), to conquering the chaos and magic of Bourbon Street and the Aquarium in New Orleans, these two learned quickly that life is more fun, slightly less dangerous, and much less scary, when experienced together. Brett and Ali discovered joy in the little things: long conversations, walks in the park with Bentley, drive-thru daiquiris, friendly competition - especially on the golf course, and celebrating victories both big and small- such as both finding amazing jobs in LA. Brett and Ali found a love that feels like home. Today, they choose each other, grateful for the journey behind them, excited for the future ahead, and fully prepared for a lifetime of laughter, tears, and prayer. Working to keep Faith at the center of their relationship, Brett and Ali attend Lafayette’s Bayou Church- the church that grounded their love and constantly reminds them that their relationship isn’t just about two people, but about growing together with purpose, grace, and a lot of prayer. And of course, no love story of theirs would be complete without margaritas at El Paso! This has become a favorite place to relax, laugh, and make important life decisions… like ordering another round. Last, let me not forget to mention Ali’s baby, whom Brett very quickly decided to adopt and spoil. Bentley believes he is the boss of the household, which is mostly true, and that every outing should include a park visit or a pup-cup stop. While Ali tries to keep Bentley on a firm diet with strict rules, Brett has almost perfected the art of sneaking him extra treats and allowing Bentley to get away with using his cute looks for whatever may be desired next. Thus, while Ali loves Brett, if you see him sleeping on the front porch, just know he’s gotta learn the husband/daddy roles somehow.
