Our Story of How We Met

Our Love Story Like so many true love stories, ours began with a touch of fate—but even more than that, it began with the gentle and intentional hand of the Lord. As we prepared separately for a missions trip to Jamaica, our hearts, minds, and spirits were focused on serving and answering God’s call. Little did we know that while we were preparing to serve, God was preparing our paths to meet. It was at the packing party where we first crossed paths, and later that evening at Armored Cow—shoutout to Chloe Meade for organizing!—where we truly spoke for the first time. Corey: I remember texting my mom the very next day saying, “Mom, there’s this girl named Alia going on the missions trip. I don’t know much about her yet, but she is so kind—and there’s just something special about her.” During the trip, that “something special” quickly became impossible to ignore. We grew closer each day as we witnessed one another’s servant hearts, emotional openness, and deep love for the Lord. Early in the week, our fearless Jamaican leaders mentioned their morning workouts. We both said we wanted to join—and before long, we were waking up at 5:17 a.m. to run and do bodyweight exercises. Those quiet, early-morning moments became some of the most meaningful of the trip. Running side-by-side, we laughed, encouraged one another, and allowed a genuine friendship to form. On Tuesday, we shared parts of our testimonies. That conversation became a turning point—deepening our connection and revealing just how aligned our hearts were. As the week went on, between morning runs, debriefs, playing Signs, endless conversations, and more than a little yapping, we realized just how much we had in common. What started as a simple friendship rooted in faith began to grow into something unmistakably guided by God. From the moment we met to the day we got engaged, the Lord’s fingerprints have been all over our story. He brought us together in a season where we were each faithfully walking with Him, and He made it clear that His plan was to unite us as one. What began in obedience and trust continues to be grounded in that same trust—built fully on His faithfulness. We are beyond excited for our wedding day and for stepping into a deeper, covenant relationship with the Lord at the center of it all. Thank you for being part of our lives and for celebrating this day with us. We love you!
