How we Met

Once upon a time, there was a handsome prince named Ali who lived in a far far away land. He was known for being smart, kind, and funny. Although he was immensely loved by all his friends and family, he still wanted someone else to love him...someone very special. So, he began his search for his princess. 1,068 miles away there lived a queen, who's biggest wish was to see her daughter, Princess Nadia, become a beautiful bride. She tried very hard to make her wish come true. Everyday, she showed her daughter pictures of suitors, but the princess would roll her eyes. "Mom! this one doesn't have a good job, this one has too many pet pigeons, this one is truly questionable looking. I can't marry any of them!" The queen sat back in dismay, for she didn't have too many days left, and really wanted see her daughter get married. The princess couldn't bear to see the queen sad, so she set out to find her own prince; how hard could it be? Except it was 2020, the world was locked down, and the only way to meet new people was online. So she downloaded the app Dil Mil, signed up for the the 3 day free trial, and began her quest to find Prince Charming. The princess was very picky, and this app was awesome! She could put in all her criteria through filters. She wanted someone 6ft tall, spiritual but not too religious, cultured but not a FOB, more educated than a bachelor's degree but not a doctor or a consultant, stylish but not materialistic. The princess told her mom all about this magical app, and the queen groaned, her daughter would never find a prince to meet all her demands. The queen and the princess both held their breaths as the princess clicked enter. Back in far far away land, the Prince Ali had also downloaded the same magical app. He was mindlessly scrolling past all the eligble princesses, and then one caught his eye, and made him pause. She had big smile, beautiful eyes, and long dark hair. He swiped right on her and hoped it would be a match. Meanwhile, 1,068 miles away, the queen and her daughter looked down at her phone screen. There was only one match that met all the princesses criteria, it was Prince Ali, and he messaged her saying "hi!" She clicked his profile, and was immediately flooded with butterflies; he also had the best hair, and smile, and eyes she had ever seen! Was it too good to be true? She blinked, and checked his profile again. Yes, it was...his page said he was a "fashionista," but he was was wearing oversized cargo shorts and Hollister looking flip flops. The queen playfully hit her daughter on the head, "My princess, when girls get too old to dress up their dolls, they dress up their husbands. Take him shopping, and everything will be okay." That seemed like sound advice, and the princess messaged Prince Ali back. Prince Ali was at his sister's house, grilling some kabobs, when his phone dinged. It was a notification from Dil Mil. Princess Nadia had swiped right, and he smiled at his phone. Since then, the two never stopped giggling at their phones. Now there's only one problem, Prince Ali needs to bring his princess to far far away land. Once he completes this task, he needs your help celebrating their Valima in Mexico!
