Known for good snorkeling and shell collecting. Until recently, only accessible via ferry but sadly recent development pushes are making headway. Still, there is a lot of natural beauty to be had and you can even camp out!

This is no quick stop from St. Petersburg, but if you're looking for a full-Florida adventure, you can check out the oldest city in the U.S., known for its Spanish colonial architecture as well as Atlantic Ocean beaches.
Manasota Key Beach
No list would be complete without my favorite Florida activity, searching for fossilized shark teeth! You are absolutely guaranteed to come away with dozens of teeth. Just scoop up a handful of shells where the water breaks and keep your eyes peeled for little black treasures!
