Hermann Park
A large urban park across the street from the medical center where we went to medical school! We specifically recommend exploring McGovern Centennial Gardens, the area around the Mary Gibbs and Jesse H. Jones Reflection Pool (including the Japanese garden and nearby lake), and the Houston Zoo!
Houston Museum of Natural Science
There are lots of great places to visit in the museum district, and the Museum of Natural Science is one of our favorites! If you get into town early, we recommend taking advantage of free admission on Thursdays. The Museum of Fine Arts also has free admission on Thursdays and The Children's Museum is free Thursdays 5-8pm. The Contemporary Arts Museum is always free.

A large urban park with many features to explore including art installations, a lake, and lots of places to play!
