Our Story

As most of you know, Freddy and I met through work. I used to work at a residential program that Freddy used to come do maintenance at every now and then. Anytime he was there, we would always chat and joke around. In 2016, I decided to change jobs and transferred to a different department within our company. This new role was part of the purchasing & facilities department, which Freddy was also a part of. Every Monday morning, we would have a meeting with everyone in the department to discuss updates and projects going on at the different programs. I was very excited for my first Monday meeting because I would get to see a familiar face. When I arrived, it turned out Freddy was out sick. I was a little bummed, but knew I'd see him soon. That week, he ended up having to come to my building to do something and he made a point to stop by my cube to say hi and tell me how excited he was that it was me who took the position. Later that night, I received the Facebook friend request that would change my life. Freddy and I would talk everyday and started to get to know each other better. After a couple weeks of texting, Freddy proceeded to ask me out. Since I was new to my role in purchasing, I was hesitant to date someone from work. I turned Freddy down on a couple occasions and we stopped texting as much. I realized that I missed talking with him so I decided to give it a chance. We went on our first date to Sylvan Street Grille and talked for hours. We secretly dated for about a month before we finally started posting things on Facebook and let a few work people in on the secret. Fast forward through 3.5 years of laughs, sporting events, concerts, vacations, moving in together, and getting a dog to July 12, 2019. On this day we were meeting up with our friends Luis & Andrea for dinner. To my surprise, the 3 of them planned a night I will always remember. When our dessert came out, Freddy got down on one knee and proposed. The ring was positioned in a bowl of bacon bits on top of a blueberry donut wrapped in bacon. I happily said yes, which brings us to where we are now. :)
