Dear friends and family, we want to thank you so much for your patience amid all the date changes and uncertainties over the last year. We wish we could celebrate with everyone as planned. Unfortunately, we are not able to host a full wedding due to very restrictive gathering limits. For those who are unable to join us: it is with heavy hearts that we write this message and you will be sorely missed. Thank you for your love and support during this time. Love, Allison and Alfred
Alfred was Allison's first penpal. He wrote to her while he was at bootcamp, sleeping on a dirt patch somewhere in Georgia. But it wasn't until a year later, when Alfred was back home living a normal college life, that the two of them really hit it off. Alli and Alfred got to chatting one Sunday at church (they were conveniently the only two college students left). Afterwards, Alfred did some serious sleuthing and got her number from a friend. The rest is, as they say, history.
Alfred lied to Alli. He told her that he'd bought tickets to see pianist Yuja Wang at the Kennedy Center together with their friends Sunny and Winston. Before the show, Alfred suggested that they go to the rooftop to admire the view. As Alli was taking pictures of Sunny and Winston, Alfred fished out a ring box from Sunny's purse. When it was their turn to pose for pictures, Alfred got down on one knee. He popped the question. Alli stood there, mesmerized by the ring. When Alfred finally asked, "Is that a yes?" she croaked, "Yeah." (Turns out there was no concert.)
