Stephanie and I first met when we were just 13 years old, sitting side by side at Sunday mass, attending Sunday school together every week. I had a huge crush on her, though I never knew that she felt the same way. But it wasn’t our time yet. Fast forward to October 24, 2012—junior year of high school—and fate brought us back together at one of her volleyball games. I approached her like no time had passed, as if we’d always been in each other’s lives. It felt like the universe was whispering that we were meant to cross paths, but the timing still wasn’t right. Then, on July 24, 2021, I came across her social media. On a whim, I decided to take a chance and asked for her number. I called her on FaceTime right away. That night, we talked for three hours straight, and it felt as if the world stood still. We lost ourselves in conversation, and it was then I knew we were exactly where we were meant to be. I asked her out to dinner, and from that moment on, we’ve been inseparable. Our journey has been one of fate, timing, and love that has only grown stronger with each passing day.
On the anniversary of the month we began this beautiful journey together, we found ourselves in Italy, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends. Marvin, ever the romantic, woke everyone at 3:00 AM, urging us to walk in the quiet stillness of the night towards the Trevi Fountain. As we reached its sparkling waters, he gently led me to the right side, towards the Fountain of Love. There, under the spell of an ancient legend—where couples who drink from its waters are promised eternal love and fidelity—he whispered softly in my ear, asking me to close my eyes and make a wish. When I opened them again, he was on one knee, asking me to be his forever. Now, as we step into this new chapter of our lives, we're overjoyed to share this moment with you. We can't wait to see you in Rome!
