Our story begins long, long ago :)...Chris & I have known each other since he was 8 and I was 11. Rudy, my brother, used to play travel baseball when he was younger with the Yankees, and Chris was on this team as well. We lost contact with one another for a little while, and then fast forward to when Rudy was about 15 years old, and we got a call from Chris' parents to invite Rudy to go out and play with Chris on his travel baseball team again, the So Cal Elite. I showed up to watch my brother play at a tournament with his new team and Chris was there. The rest they say, is history! We started to text and talk and immediately we fell for each other. Our love of baseball, music, traveling, and having the same goals and dreams brought us together (at a baseball game, of course) and we have been together ever since. We started officially dating on 08.15.2012, and our first date was a Dodger game (how perfect right?!). We have loved every moment of our lives since we have been together. After Chris graduated from high school we started to travel a lot and we have made it a goal to travel to all of the MLB stadiums, since baseball is such a huge part of our lives and relationship. We have successfully visited and watched games played at 18 out of 30 stadiums so far and we continue to travel to reach our dream!
The proposal came as a HUGE shock. I never saw it coming! We were in Toronto on one of the biggest baseball trips we have done so far, we were first stopping in Toronto, then driving to Detroit, then Cleveland, and then Pittsburgh, all to visit and watch baseball games at each stadium. So we flew into Toronto on a Wednesday, and the baseball game was on Friday, August 30th. Friday night comes around and we walk to the stadium and go to the game, everything seems normal. Then around the bottom of the 4th inning Chris starts chugging the beers we just bought, and I'm looking at him like why are you drinking these beers so fast? Are you okay? Lol. So then he tells me, I'm going to go to centerfield where they have cheaper beers and I'll be back, so I give him a kiss and tell him to be careful. Almost a inning and a half later, he comes back, and I was like where the heck have you been?! He chugs one more beer and then in the middle of the 6th inning, he says "Stand up Beautiful", and he drops to his knee, with the biggest smile on his face and says, "Beautiful, will you marry me?" NOW it made sense on why he was drinking his beers so fast, he was nervous! Lol. I was in so much shock and he did such a good job on setting it up and having one of the ushers film the whole proposal for us. It was a perfect proposal (at a baseball stadium) to start the next chapter in our lives together. It was almost 7 years exactly, from when we first started dating to when he asked me to marry him.
