Once upon a mid-September evening in 2023, Alexus & Jake's paths crossed at a local bar & grill located in the heart of Wichita, KS's historic Old Town District. Little did they know, that night would be the beginning of a love story for the ages! Just two weeks later, with a bit of courage and persistence, Jake asked Alexus on a coffee date! What was meant to be a quick meet-up turned into an entire afternoon filled with laughter, conversation, and spontaneous adventures. They sipped drinks at Coffee Daze, rode electric scooters along the downtown river, grabbed a bite at Chick-fil-A, and took a ride through the city on Jake’s (now sadly stolen—LOL) motorcycle. It was the perfect first day together. After a few more unforgettable dates, Jake made it official on October 21, 2023, with a romantic sunset plane ride. From there, their journey took flight—literally and figuratively. Over the following months, they navigated long-distance while Jake completed airline training, and in March 2024, they took the next big step: moving into their first apartment together. Life quickly became filled with the little moments they had been missing—grocery runs, movie marathons, and turning even mundane chores into shared memories. Together, everything just felt a little more meaningful. Then, on January 2, 2025, during a sun-soaked vacation in Hawaii, Jake made the ultimate grand gesture. With the ocean breeze and palm trees swaying in the background, he dropped to one knee on the beach and asked Alexus to marry him. Spoiler alert: she said YES!
