We matched on a dating app called Hinge as one does nowadays. After exchanging messages and finding out we had a lot in common, it was time to actually meet in person. We agreed to meet the day after Halloween to see a scary movie where I would learn that Ben does not like jump scares. Both regretting the movie choice, we didn’t regret hanging out and it didn’t take long after a date or two to realize how great we were for each other.

On my family vacation we had plans to go to Olympia, Washington to visit the Hoh Rainforest. That day he seemed nervous and more prepared than usual. So we arrive at the Rainforest looking for a spot called “The Hall of Mosses.” I had an inclination that he might propose but it was busy with people so I wasn’t too sure. We finally get to “The Hall of Mosses” and people had just cleared the way for me to take a picture. As I try to take a photo, I looked over and he was down on one knee. Already in tears I managed to get the word YES out of my mouth and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Poway!
