Our story truly represents the reality of divine appointments as we crossed paths multiple times before we started dating. We originally met at a Calvary Chapel Chattanooga event in early 2018. Sitting at a group table, we were both immediately attracted to one another, but we only spoke briefly. Alex was completing school in Knoxville and getting ready to move back to Chattanooga. However, when Tyler heard she currently lived in Knoxville, he immediately wrote off the opportunity to ask her on a date. Fast forward to October 2018, we saw each other at a charity golf tournament we were playing in. Even though he knew exactly where he recognized her from, Tyler was too nervous and shy to go up to Alex and start up a conversation. However, recognizing him as well, Alex decided she would try to use something clever to strike up a conversation. As Tyler was sitting at a table, she walked up to him and said, “Hey! Did you go to UT?” not knowing that he was a graduate and diehard fan of Alabama. Completely caught off guard, in his infinite flattery, Tyler simply responded, “No.” Alex was completely embarrassed. She ran away immediately and vowed never to initiate a conversation again. In January 2019, we reconnected, and Tyler finally got up the nerve to ask her out. Alex agreed even though she later admitted that she almost did not show up because she was so nervous. We both felt an immediate connection as we sat and talked for over 5 hours, and we have been together ever since.
