Hot Air Balloon Festival/Glow

This event will be all weekend long! Admission to the park is FREE, so bring the whole family for a day of fun! Start your morning off right with a hot air balloon mass ascension of over 70 balloons accompanied by breakfast and drinks from local vendors. Activities will continue throughout the day with skydiving demonstrations, wakeboarding exhibitions, paddle boarding, live entertainment, chainsaw carving and donut eating competitions. Wrap up your visit at Memorial Park over the Labor Day weekend with a hot air balloon glow at dusk.

If you like our pictures youll love this park. Garden of the Gods Park is a registered National Natural Landmark. Imagine dramatic views, 300' towering sandstone rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies. This is truly a must-see if you are in the area.

The Airforce Academy is a site to see and not far from the local area. The chapel and stadium are spectacular pieces of architecture.

At an elevation of 6,714 feet above sea level it is the highest zoo in America. The zoo covers 140 acres, 40 of which are in use. The zoo houses more than 750 animals, representing nearly 150 different species, with more than 30 endangered species. The zoo was ranked the #4 best zoo in North America in 2018 by USA Today. It is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Pikes Peak is the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in North America. The ultra-prominent 14,115-foot fourteener is located in Pike National Forest, 12 miles west of downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. The mountain is named in honor of American explorer Zebulon Pike. The summit is higher than any point in the United States east of its longitude.
