Alex & I both played in a kickball league together in Myrtle Beach, SC. I thought I had just signed up to go to happy hour with my friends and then attempt to work it off after at the games. Little did I know, my life was about to change forever. Alex would strut around showing off his (impressive) kickball skills, but his cockiness wasn’t getting him anywhere. Which leads us to a conversation I had with a teammate one night saying that he was interested in me. I remember him looking at me and saying “Don’t act like it could never happen” at which I replied “it won't.” Well, next thing we know, fast forward a few weeks and here we were on our first date. I learned over the next few dates that this guy LOVED to dance. I mean anytime, anywhere, and I really loved that about him. I also learned that he was the most sincere, genuine and funniest guy I’ve ever met. We instantly connected and started to form a bond that I’ve never felt with anyone else. (Plus, when I adopted Hank I knew I couldn’t ever separate the two). Alex was and is and always will be my person. And well, the rest is history!!

Alex's family vacations to Ocean Isle Beach, NC every year. We have good friends that live there too, so it became a very special place for us. Our first night there this past year we were going to meet up with our friends (or so I thought). We took a little stroll on the beach and were about to walk towards the pier. Next thing I know I look over and Alex is down on one knee and I think for the first time in our relationship, he was SPEECHLESS. He finally got out what he needed to and I couldn't have been happier. Especially when I turn around to see both of our families up on the pier watching the whole thing. Everyone I love in one place, it was perfect! Thank you all for sharing in such a special moment in our lives! We are truly blessed to have each and every one of you!
