Our story starts in Morristown, NJ, mainly in a very old and very lived-in red house on Mills Street. I had been living there for almost three years after I moved to New Jersey, and roommates rotated in and out constantly. Around that time, Alex was just starting a new job while living at home. Through work she became friends with one of my roommates, and on what we thought was "just another weekend party" at Mills Street, we met for the first time with no idea what the road ahead would bring for us. The next day I talked to my roommate, Lauren, about Alex. I told her how I thought Alex was cute, and she burst out with excitement that Alex said the same about me. It was a scene out of middle school. From there came dates, food, fights, laughter, and all the craziness of a new relationship, but eventually (after we each moved in with other friends for a year) we decided to get serious and move in together. Over that year together in Morristown, we learned even more about each other and fell more in love. It didn't take long for us to decide to get a dog, and once Roo was in the picture we knew it was for the long term. As devious as I am, I formed a plan with Alex's long time friend Shannon to invite the two of us up to Boston where she lived. Unbeknownst to Alex, Shannon was helping me set up a proposal she would never expect. The weekend we were in Boston was arguably the best we've ever had, and on that Saturday we walked down Fan Pier Park where I got down on one knee, Alex cried and almost forgot to answer, and Shannon and her boyfriend took candid pictures while hiding behind some bushes. Months later, another huge change came along. Alex got a job offer in Boston and after a lot of deliberation we decided to move on it. Somehow everything fell into place and we found an apartment and a new job for me. It was incredibly tough to leave home, but now we get to come back and share our special day with everyone in our lives. We can't wait to see you all there!
