Travel Note
Notes of caution - don't be scared, don't get upset, just know it's part of life and smile: 1. Marrakech and anywhere inland in Morocco is hot in the summer and Morocco does not have much in the way of central cooling. 2. Marrakech is known as a city where everyone gets ripped off. It's just how it is. Don't get too worked up over it in any case. Tips: -Ignore unsolicited conversation. -When you want to buy something in the medina, try not to pay more than 1/3 of the original price (but if you love it and it's not too much, don't torture yourself over it either). -Look at the official medallion number of the taxi before you get in, tell the taxi driver to put on the "counter" (the meter) when you get into the cab, and if s/he does not, feel free to leave the taxi. -Remeber everyone is just trying to make a living, and be kind. -If something goes awry, call the tourist police at +212524384601.
