There is so much good food in the area, but these are a few of our favorite spots: 1. Atlantic on Pacific (our go-to date night) 2. COVA Brewing (right by our house, a routine regular for us with great wine + beer) 3. Commonwealth (amazing pizza, board games, and best place for friends) 4. Simple Eats (incredible brunch) 5. Taste Unlimited (best sandwiches in the area + they have several locations in the 757) 6. The Pink Dinghy (great cocktails and food any time of day) 7. Hearth Wood Fired Cuisine (best food in the area) 8. The Porch (romantic cocktails on the water)
These are the best local bars in the area to visit day or night, and both are right on the water. If you go anywhere during your trip, we recommend here the most! Fun fact: this is where Alex & Danielle met <3
The Cavalier is a historic hotel and Virginia Beach icon. It was a famous hotel in the 40s & 50s that has been restored as a favorite in the area. It has 3 restaurants, a cocktail lounge, picturesque lawns, and a 5-star spa.
For a classic, Virginia Beach experience, here's what we recommend: 1. Beachside Social A fun, lively spot right by the ocean with shuffleboard, drinks, and an easygoing crowd. Great for groups, friendly competition, and kicking off a night out with something a little different. 2. The Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk Stroll, bike, people-watch, or grab ice cream—this classic oceanfront stretch is ideal any time of day. It’s the heartbeat of the beach. 3. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center A relaxed way to spend a few hours, especially for families or ocean lovers. Expect sharks, sea turtles, and beautiful coastal exhibits just minutes from the beach.
The locals love Shore Drive. Here are some of the best locals experiences in the area: 1. The Banque The local country-western bar known for line dancing, karaoke, and a lively crowd. Grab a drink, hit the dance floor, and enjoy this local one-of-a-kind in this beach town. 2. First Landing State Park Where the Chesapeake Bay meets quiet beaches and wooded trails. Ideal for biking, walks, or a peaceful beach day away from the bustle of the oceanfront. 3. Waterman's Spirits Craft cocktails, coastal flair, and a little local spirit (literally). Waterman’s is perfect for a relaxed afternoon or early evening stop—especially if you love creative drinks made with care and a nod to the sea. 4. Shorebreak Pizza & Taphouse Our football favorite–perfect place for pizza, beer, and watching the game with friends (Alex never leaves without a milkshake) 5. Esoteric The best date night... and girls night! It's Danielle's favorite spot to celebrate with the girls.
A year-round surf and a buzzing entertainment atmosphere. Even if you’re staying dry, it’s fun to watch and soak in the energy. PS. The Dome is attached to the surf park–where you can check out great concerts and comedians.
