Alex first saw Kelsey (Fall 2013) when he was running laps down the field for football practice and she was pole-vaulting at one end. Alex was instantly mesmerized, some may even call it love at first sight. From that day forth, he only knew her as "The Pole-Vaulter". It was a cold night in Naperville (Spring 2014) and some of the students were drinking some adult beverages at a popular party house called The Dome. Alex was posted up in the corner with his fellow freshman teammates. Kelsey had been at the house a while, and was feeling good. She spotted Alex, tapped him on the shoulder, and asked, "you're a freshman right?". Alex was flabbergasted and replied "uh.... yes", to which Kelsey so confidently replied "I think you're cute". Without any hesitation, she walked away, leaving Alex's jaw on the floor. Alex searched far and wide the rest of the night, but "The Pole-Vaulter" had vanished. There were no further interactions until... Fast forward a couple months (Early Spring 2015), both were in attendance at the North Central Basketball game. Kelsey volunteered for the half time hula hoop contest because she loves winning money. Alex was minding his own business, returning from the bathroom, when he realized his friends had betrayed him by signing him up for the same hula hoop contest. Alex's athleticism failed him when he was eliminated from the competition almost immediately. Kelsey made it to the final 3, but the tables turned when they threw a basket ball into the competition. The judge threw Kelsey a fastball which caused her to be unfairly kicked out. As Kelsey walked off the court, she felt defeated... BUT THEN, what's that? A knight in shining Ulmer? Put his arm around her and introduced himself. Kelsey realized she was the real winner in that moment. She had met her soulmate. Later that night, Kelsey slid into Alex's Facebook DM's (classic) to brag about how the competition judge gave her a pity gift card after the game & the rest was history!
