They say you shouldn't meet strangers online. In our case it worked out! Our love story began with two swipes to the right. After matching on Bumble we talked constantly, and Zach wasted no time asking Alexis out. We decided to meet at Heights Beir Garten for the first time. Alexis quickly broke the ice when she just walked up and greeted Zach with a big hug! Side note, Zach was not a hugger at the time. We spent hours just talking, laughing, and learning everything there was to know about each other. At the end of the night Zach asked "What are you doing tomorrow? I want to see you again." Within two months we were heads over heels in love with each other. Over the next two years we went on many adventures together; Alexis learned how to fish and Zach learned how to rodeo. None can compare to when Zach finally popped the big question during a picture perfect sunset at Buffalo Bayou.

When we were dating we walked to Buffalo Bayou. We stopped on a bridge with a view of Houston’s beautiful skyline. While on the bridge Zach said, “I’m going to propose to you here one day.” On August 8, 2020 he made that promise come true. The week leading up to the engagement Zach had asked for Alexis' hand, told all her friends, and picked up the ring. Now the plan had to be placed into action. Micaela was the distraction asked Alexis to a sister date. While Zach told Alexis, he was going fishing for the weekend, and would have no cell service. If you know Zach this is a very believable lie. While Micaela and Alexis were at lunch. Alexis kept talking about how she thinks Zach was going to propose soon. Micaela, not so gently, told her it was not happening that day. With that they ordered some Rose and had lunch. After lunch we made our way to Buffalo Bayou to take some pictures. As we were walking Micaela took me to the same bridge that Zach and I had walked to. While I was facing the skyline, Zach ran up behind me. When I turned and saw him the first things I said was “What are you doing here?” Zach poured out his heart and got down on one knee to ask if I would spend forever with him. I quickly said yes!! We are so excited to take this next step surrounded by all our family and friends.
