Stephen and Ali met on their first day as students at the University of Montevallo. They were at a freshman orientation dance. To Stephen, it was love at first sight, but he was too afraid to ask Ali to dance. Throughout their time at the University of Montevallo, they were just friends who had no idea what God had in store for their lives. Stephen was the guy Ali would call if something was wrong, or she needed him to get her a date for sorority functions. They graduated in May 2014. Ali moved to Atlanta, and Stephen took time off to take care of his parents. In January 2015, they reconnected at the University of Montevallo's Homecoming celebrations. After five years, they realized something special could be happening, but it still was not God's time. In July 2015, Ali moved back from Atlanta. Two days later Stephen found out and decided Ali needed to see the "New Birmingham". Ali had only been in Atlanta for a year, but what the heck. The Birmingham Mega Date was all Ali needed to know that Stephen was worth keeping around. Fast forward about three years later, Stephen and Ali are still seeing the "New Birmingham". May 5th, 2018 Stephen brought Ali to their first date spot, The Birmingham Zoo. Going to the Birmingham Zoo is a regular for them, so it was just a normal walk. Stephen knew it was God's perfect time, and he asks Ali to marry him. It was the easiest decision Ali ever made. They look forward to a lifetime of Birmingham dates together.
