FAQs

Attending a mixed-culture wedding can be confusing! Don't worry, we got you covered with answers to some very vital questions.
Question

I'm not sure if I should come due to COVID-19. What do you suggest?

Answer

While we would love for you to spend our special day with us, we understand that right now is just not the most ideal time for everyone due to the pandemic. Safety guidelines are in place, but if you are unsure or uneasy about attending, we understand and ask that you RSVP "No." Hope to see you in the future!

Question

Are there restrictions due to COVID-19?

Answer

To keep everyone safe, we ask that you abide by the restrictions and guidelines set by the State of NJ and the CDC. Please wear your masks when not eating or drinking, and practice social distancing. Please listen to the instructions of Jacques' staff members and be mindful of others. We are not near the maximum capacity of the venue and have a scaled down event to ensure the safety of all our guests.

Question

I tested positive for COVID-19/came in contact with a positive individual after I RSVPed. What should I do?

Answer

We are so sorry to hear that! If you have tested positive, are experiencing symptoms, or were informed you could have been exposed to COVID-19 up to 10 days before the wedding, we ask that you use your judgment and either test negative before attending, or unfortunately not attend. Please let Lexi, Shabbir, or Connie know as soon as possible.

Question

I have never attended an American wedding before. What can I expect?

Answer

American weddings are loads of fun! Instead of separating our events over a few days, we keep them all in a few hours time. When you arrive, you will first attend the ceremony, which will be about a half hour long. This is where the actual marriage takes place. Following the ceremony, you will enjoy yourself at the cocktail hour which will feature light appetizers and drinks for one hour. Then, the main reception will take place. You will be assigned a table to sit at, and will give your dinner order to the waitstaff. Dinner will be served, and then dancing will commence along with some other traditional events like the first couple dance and the cake cutting.

Question

Do I need to dress a certain way due to religion?

Answer

Nope! We are having a non-secular ceremony, and our guests come from a variety of different backgrounds. This is a formal event, and we would like our guests to be comfortable, so please dress according to your taste and style! We encourage you to dress however you would normally dress for a wedding in your culture.

Question

I have a food allergy/special dietary restriction. What should I do?

Answer

Please inform us of any concerns when you R.S.V.P. Jacques is very accommodating, and has asked us to provide this very information to them prior to the event. They will take it from there!

Question

Can I take pictures during the event?

Answer

We ask that you please abide by our "unplugged ceremony" rule and do NOT take photos during our ceremony. We will be happy to share our professional photographs with you once they are developed. Feel free to take pictures during other events, but please follow the requests of our photographers and allow them to take pictures first.

Question

Will alcohol be served?

Answer

We will be having a premium open bar for the duration of the event. Please drink responsibly and take advantage of the block of rooms at the Marriott as well as our complimentary shuttle from the reception center to the hotel. But, consider yourself warned - you may appear in photographs no matter your physical state :)

Question

What is the parking situation like?

Answer

Jacques has plenty of parking available for guests. There are multiple lots located around the reception center.

Question

Do I need to attend every event?

Answer

Traditionally, wedding guests would arrive on time and attend each and every event. If you have given us a R.S.V.P. of "Yes!" but choose to skip the ceremony, please ensure that you arrive by 7:00 P.M. the latest.

For all the days along the way
