When I met Sam more than 10 years ago, it was a chance encounter at a high school party in East Hartford. He was friends with my twin cousins (Matt and Jill – both now part of the wedding party!). Since Sam was friends with my cousins, I would bump into him here and there when we were out in Hartford or at other group gatherings. At that time, the small talk was on point, but that was it. The love connection was still in the making. Later, I became friends with Sam’s roommate, Tesh. I started seeing Sam more often and liked that he was always off doing something different and fun. So much so that one day I decided to join him on one of his adventures. We went to the Electric Daisy Music Festival in 2016 and, to the beat of electronic dance music, we realized this was more than a friendship. After that, we started to spend more and more time together and developed a strong and serious connection before we even knew it was happening. In the last three years, we’ve been by each other’s sides doing all sorts of things – traveling, attending music festivals, changing careers, working out, testing out different vegan restaurants, and eventually buying a house. One June 1, 2019, we went to one of our favorite places, Hawks Nest Beach in Old Lyme, where Sam popped the question! Of course I said yes, and now we are so excited to start our next great adventure together!
