Their story is really about God's timing and how it works out if you trust His plan and love without reservations. When Sage was fourteen, Alexis asked him to float the river with her in New Mexico at the National High School Rodeo Finals, she had no idea who he was, but her mom said she needed to find a guy to go with her and Sage just so happened to be the guy that walked by first. He didn't go float the river with her, but it was the first time God brought him into her life. A few years later, Sage was chosen to be on the Bloomer Trailers High School Rodeo Team as a Bull Rider, Alexis was a freshman in college and he was a senior in high school. By the end of the weekend event, Sage had asked Alexis to prom. She turned him down and to this day, he still reminds her of it. Throughout Sage's rookie year in the PRCA, he would ask her to lunch or reach out when he went through town. For years, they stayed friends. Throughout 2015, they started talking frequently and they became best friends. Ten months later, they started dating. After four years of dating, Sage asked Alexis to marry him under the Christmas lights in the Santa Fe Plaza. Although it took ten years, they finally ended up exactly where they were meant to be and they both realized that what they wanted most out of life, was there all along. According to Sage, he knew that Alexis was the one from the moment he first saw her. They are so excited to become Mr. and Mrs. Kimzey and they have learned that the best things in life come when you least expect it.
