Alexis and Ray met on the dating app Hinge in 2019. Ray’s pick-up line to Alexis was that she “looked like Gabrielle Union with a Wakanda woman’s body.” After that compliment, Alexis was sold and the two began to text every day. Eventually, Ray asked Alexis out on their first date, and the two were excited to meet in person. Their first official date was on July 19, 2019, at Bar Taco in West Hartford, CT, and they spent the night talking about their backgrounds, their families, their love for sports, and other fun topics like Mulan vs Hercules. They didn’t want the night to end, so they went to the Soulbaila Lounge afterwards for drinks and dancing. Their chemistry was so undeniable that Ray asked (told) Alexis they would be going on their second date the very next day to see The Lion King! That summer, Ray played for the Hartford Athletics, and Alexis and Ray spent almost every day together. By the fourth month of dating, Ray introduced Alexis to his family. During this initial visit, Ray’s mother, Marci, talked about the day Alexis and Ray would get married — and as we can see, she was on to something! As a couple, Alexis and Ray share a love for watching sports and animé, exploring new restaurants, engaging in friendly competitive games, traveling, and taking leisurely walks outdoors. Also, since their second date that they saw The Lion Kion, the couple loves to go to the movie theatres and track all of the movies that they have seen together. To this date, the couple has seen 42 movies in theatre together!
