Alexis and Owen met on Hinge and went on their first date at Mike Hess Brewing, bonding over their mutual love of craft beer. Between drinks and a competitive game of darts (Alexis was really trying to win), the conversation flowed effortlessly. Alexis immediately felt comfortable with Owen. His easygoing nature, kindness, and sense of humor made the usual first-date nerves disappear, and she left thinking he was someone she definitely wanted to keep seeing. Owen remembers the night starting with typical small talk, but he quickly found himself drawn to Alexis when she talked about her work helping unhoused people. He was struck by how genuinely caring she was, not just toward her clients but everyone around her. By the end of the night, he was completely smitten - and he still is. (Owen did win the darts game, for the record.) At the end of the night, Owen drove Alexis home, and they shared their first kiss in the car. He also mentioned he had tickets to a San Diego Gulls game the next weekend - she happily said yes to a second date. What he forgot to mention was that the date would start with Alexis meeting his brothers, Jasper and Wyatt, and Jasper’s girlfriend (now wife) Allie, who had just arrived to visit. Alexis was internally freaking out, but everyone was so welcoming that she instantly felt at ease - and she was impressed to quickly learn how family-oriented Owen is. From there, they all headed to the Gulls game and had a blast. From then on, the dates just kept coming - more brewery visits, beach walks, and park hangs around San Diego. Not long after, Owen met one of the most important parts of Alexis’ life: her cat, Leo. Thankfully, Leo approved immediately (a huge green flag for Alexis), and it was clear Owen was just as much of a cat person as she was. Over time, they met each other’s families, visited each other’s hometowns, and continued building a life together. Eventually, they moved in together, adopted their sweet little kitty Juliet, and kept adding more adventures along the way. On April 19th, 2025, Owen proposed on a trip to beautiful Catalina Island - and the rest is history. Now they can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter surrounded by all of you!
