The year is 2016. I happened to sign up for a kinesiology class which frequently spent class time exercising. If I would have known this ahead of time, I probably would not have signed up. We were all instructed to run a mile on the track at Louisiana Tech. I woke up that morning with a cold and was already out of shape which meant I was the last one on the track. As I was coming in to my final strides, I heard someone shouting "Go, Lexi, Go". This is how I met Nathan. This moment was different from typical moments as most people would not do something like this. While he will swear up and down that I fully did not talk to him, that is not true...I was hesitant though. It did not take long for that to change. From walking me back to class on that day to numerous days sitting behind me in class, we slowly started a friendship. One that was full of laughter and authenticity. From that friendship bloomed a love so real and genuine that I never knew existed. I am forever grateful for that man cheering me on to finish my last lap on a track for a kinesiology class. - Lexi So now for the real story of how we meet. I just transfered out of CHEM-E into kinesology for physical therapy, and one of my first classes was one about fitness/ exercise. One day we walked to the track to run a 1 1/2 mile for class. If you know me I usually am dying after I run due to asthma and being out of shape. So when I got off the ground to get up and leave there was only one person left running, low and behold it was the girl who sat in front of me. So being nice I decieded to cheer her on. As we walked back to campus I tried being friendly to her but it was clear that she was doing everything to try to scare me off. After a month, I had gotten to know this girl named "LEXI", just as friends. I realized she is cool, funny, all around kind and awesome person so I decided to ask her on a date. It took 3 months of dates, drives, and coffee visits before she final said yes. - Nathaniel
Well this all started because Lexi introduced me to The Office and Micheal Scott. Not going to lie at first I wanted to deck him in the face everytime he said something stupid, however, I grew to like him. Hate to say it but I kinda used Micheal and Holly's proposal as template, since this was something that we spent hours watching together and it was a show she loved. For reference watch The Office Season 7 Episode 19. Step 1: The setup I talked with our close friend to come and help out, even though they all had moved away to start their carriers. I also spoke with Mrs. Szymanski the teacher who taught the class we met in if we would be able to use the classroom that we meet in for the proposal. Which required a bit of red tape and paperwork as well as a change from real candles to electric candles. Step 2: Convincing Lexi to come to Ruston when she was in Monroe Wasn't to hard she just finished her first year of her masters program and I said hey lets celebrate with a date day, and we will dress nice for the occasion. Step 3: The Proposal May 11th, 2019 Well the weather did not want to cooperate with us so it was raining. Anyway I told her we were going to go for a drive like we always did when we were together. I started by taking her by the moive theater and applebees where we had our first date. Next was by her friend Liz's house where we first kissed. Next was parish press the coffee shop we spent hours at. Next was the track where we first met and where we would go to look at stars. Then we headed to Memoral Gym where I asked her to walk in with me so we could reminise. As we got closer to the class room where we meet, our friends were lined up the stair case leading to the room. Each asking to marry her as we went up to the classroom and once inside there was a ring of candles setup where we sat in class. That is when, I asked the most amazing woman in my world to be my wife and she said yes, she didn't noticing the ring at first, to be fair she was crying.
