Mikey and Alexis first crossed paths at a high school dance. After some laughs and snazzy dance moves, they easily became friends. They didn't keep in touch after high school, Mikey going to Los Angeles to Loyola Marymount University and Alexis heading up to Oregon State University. Occasionally, though, they would run into each other in San Jose as if life was checking in on them. Fast forward to 2017, Mikey and Alexis crossed paths again at Brewfest in San Francisco. Both newly single, Alexis proclaims to her friend what she is looking for in her next partner and that she was looking for her ‘one’ in the next relationship. Less than 30 mins after, she bumps into Mikey. They quickly bonded and decided to have plans to catch up, which was originally supposed to only be some happy hour drinks ended being a dinner with heart-to-heart conversations and salsa dancing to live music to end the night. Mikey and Alexis moved in together in 2018, adopted a wonderful (and overly ball-obsessed) doggo, Ellie, and a couple of years later, bought a house together on the wonderful slopes of Potrero Hill in San Francisco! Hop forward to October 2020, Mikey takes Alexis on a sunrise hike in Joshua Tree. (Mikey didn't realize that meant waking up BEFORE sunrise). He got down on one knee on top of Ryan Mountain and proposes at sunrise to the love of his life.
