February 2022 It all began four years ago on Valentine’s Day at Shore Medical Center, when Maurice and Alexis were just two nursing aides working toward the same goal of becoming future RNs. Little did they know that God was aligning their paths, because their lives were meant to be spent together in every aspect. What started as a friendly DM on Instagram turned into endless nights of laughter and love—and eventually, a beautiful marriage. But let’s start at the beginning… March 2022 Maurice finally built up enough courage to ask Alexis out on a first date. To his surprise, Alexis chose Churn House Ice Cream Parlor in the middle of a New Jersey March. Flurries of snow began to fall toward the end of their 30-minute date, but Maurice wasn’t ready to call it a day just yet. Despite being extremely cold and uncomfortable, he had every intention of dragging out the date as long as possible, eager to learn more about Alexis—and, coincidentally, she felt the same way. One date turned into another, followed by a string of adventures—from Topgolf to axe throwing to a country festival. Each outing became another excuse for Maurice and Alexis to spend as much time together as possible. Their love grew quickly and deeply, and time seemed to fly by. Their bond became so strong that any obstacles they faced were knocked down one by one, simply because they stood side by side in a relationship built on love, courage, bravery, resilience, and an unbreakable connection. Their journey was far from easy, but everything came full circle four years later when Maurice proposed on Valentine’s Day to the love of his life.
