In December 2018, Alexis and Marqell, along with a few other friends went to a formal in Meritt Island, FL. Marqell always tries to be extra, so he rented a Tesla for the group to arrive at the party in. After the party, everyone in the car was sleeping except for Alexis and Marqell. During that time on the drive back, Marqell had the opportunity to get a glimpse of how cool Alexis really is!

Ever heard the phrase "everything you are looking for has been right in front of you the whole time?” This courtship started years after we have already known each other. "Guy's have to make the first move!" Fortunately, Marqell did! One night after going to Rising Star Karaoke with a small group of friends, he nervously sent a text to Alexis "goodnight sweet tea," and turned the phone off! Alexis texted him back asking how he could send such a message. They began texting back and forth every day until they made things "official."

30 minutes later than the specified time, Alexis and Kyra showed up and met with Marqell and a friend of his at Chuy's Tex Mex Resturant in Winter Park. After dinner, they went for dessert at Little Blue Donut Co and made pottery afterwards.

One night Marqell and Alexis were texting back and fourth, and Marqell casually told Alexis, "You are my girl, just to make that understood." Frantically, Alexis called Kyra with fear and excitement. Every month on the 26 thereafter they celebrated a monthly anniversary.

Just as they did at the beginning of the year, Alexis and Marqell sang ‘A thousand Miles’ by Vanessa Carlton at Rising Star Karaoke, after which Marqell suprised her with his proposal to her on stage and she said YASSS!!!
