FAQs

The Wedding Website of alexis qvist and luke carswell
We understand going out of the country is a big deal, and may be someone's first time in Mexico. Here are some questions you may have, and if there are any unanswered - please reach out to us with them, and we will gladly help you!
Question

What airlines should we book through?

Answer

Recommended flights are with AeroMexico, Delta, and American Airlines. Transportation from the airport would be shuttles, and taxi's. Just give them the house name and they will take you to the street that all of our houses are located. And depending on your arrival timing, we may have a car available to pick you up from the airport ourselves.

Question

How should I be exchanging my dollars to pesos?

Answer

It is best to avoid airport atms, or using a debit card. If you have a traveling credit card that is fine, but if you'd like to transfer any money into pesos, cash is best. This can be done by bringing your cash to the bank in town, and they will give you the best exchange rate.

Question

What is September weather in Puerto like?

Answer

Weather in this area during this time is often warm, between 86 degrees at most and 73 being the coolest. This time also is popular for tropical rain, sometimes overcasting, while remaining very warm, even in the rain. Which can go from short bursts to small storms. Please keep an open mind, as this is not an average american's weather and we understand rain may affect outings and events, but we are willing to go with the flow! But don't fret, all rooms will be equipped with running AC's, and will have a pool right in your backyard! Depending on your comfort, a hat for sun protection may be helpful, and possibly some bug spray.

Question

What should my expectations for spending look like?

Answer

Aside from your flights here, we will be giving each guest a flat rate for our pre-rented Casitas. We promise these are very affordable options for the area, and have been booked at a discounted rate through our family's relationship with the house-hosts, and owning one of these houses themselves. We can also be expecting to eat out for most of our meals, as this town has SO many locally made, and sourced, food and drink options- it would be a crime not to explore them! Also as your dollar goes a bit father here, an average day of eating out is about 30$ for one couple, and is about 1-3$ for transportation each day.

Question

What are some cultural customs I should know about?

Answer

We will be providing bottled water, since the local water is not potable. They also do not have septic tanks and cannot support toilet paper, wipes, or feminine products, going into their toilets!

Question

What will my transportation options be?

Answer

This is an extremely walkable, and pedestrian friendly city, but another option would be a Colectivo. This being the most budget friendly option, is a small bus or shared taxi, that goes up and down the main strip frequently and is about 50 cents a trip in USD. Please keep in mind there are no child/seat belt laws in this country and children often are asked to sit in the laps of parents, with no car seats, or seat belts being available. We are planning on doing lots of walking, when leaving the houses, so please bring comfortable shoes!

Question

What kind of clothes should I pack?

Answer

The weather will be warm, humid, and depending on the day a light warm drizzle. Pack light, breathable, comfortable clothes for going out to eat and being around the house. Also a pair of comfortable walking shoes will be helpful since this is a very walkable town. Each house has a pool, and we are 15 minutes from multiple beaches, so if you'd like to swim make sure to pack a bathing suit, and a pair of shoes you wouldn't mind getting wet. A hat and some sunscreen are also recommended.
