After that, life took us in different directions, and we grew apart for a while. But fate had other plans. I ended up in the hospital, and it just so happened that he was the one to admit me. When he realized I was his patient, he gave me the option to have someone else handle my case, but I was relieved to see a familiar face. I knew I was in good hands with him, and it was in that moment that we rekindled our friendship. It was also the moment he met my parents for the first time, which would turn into one of many cherished memories. It felt like the world had thrown us back together again, as if it knew we belonged in each others lives. Our shared love for Magic the Gathering and Halloween parties brought us even closer, with him hosting tournaments and me throwing spooky Halloween celebrations. One of the most memorable moments was when he surprised me for my birthday. He took me to see my favorite musician, Billie Eilish, and not just any seats—Captain Morgan club seats, right in the middle of the action. The whole night, I could feel his eyes on me, making sure I was having the time of my life. Before the show started, he looked at me and told me that he would take me to see Billie anywhere, any year, if I really wanted to. That was just one of the countless ways he has made me feel cherished and loved. Then came the most unforgettable moment—during one of our joint Halloween-Magic the Gathering Tournaments, he asked me to be his forever. It was in the midst of laughter, magic cards, and the company of close friends and family, that he proposed to me, and I couldnt have asked for a more perfect moment. Through every twist, turn, and unexpected reunion, we’ve learned that sometimes life’s most beautiful moments happen when you least expect them.
