And their lives would change forever. The night before Thanksgiving, Gavin and Alexis ended up at The Draft Choice with their separate group of friends and found each other towards the end of the night at the same table. The conversation was natural, effortless, and full of laughter. Before Thanksgiving dinner was served the following day, they already had plans to see each other again for their first date in Tacoma. The first date became the second, then the third, and before they knew it, they’d become each other’s favorite person. Gavin and Alexis knew they were moving fast, but for both of them it felt natural. Their dates had been nothing short of magical, filled with endless laughter, hours-long phone conversations, and even early plans for the future (all within the first month). By the one-month mark, they were officially a couple, dedicating every spare moment to each other. Even the frequent drives between Lakewood and Kent were an insignificant obstacle. After meeting each other's families, they both felt incredibly fortunate, as if they have been a part of the other's life forever. Half the year passed, and there have been so many developments! Their relationship continues to deepen as they've moved in together. They eagerly anticipated a summer packed with activities, including an Alta Lake trip with the Strojans, a 4th of July celebration with the Limric, Embody, and Turco families, and a visit to Florida for Universal Studios and mini golf. With the summer ending and Gavin heading back to his teaching job, he formulated a plan. One beautiful September evening, the couple went to Stanley and Seaforts. As Alexis took her seat, she wondered, "He's either going to propose or we're going to Disneyland." They did not go to Disneyland! Their engagement is official! The following months are filled with wedding venue visits, discussions over the correct use of "fiancé" or "fiancée," and perhaps a few exciting casino trips. Over time, their love only deepened. They began discussing their future, planning for all of life's milestones: new homes, children, and growing old together. However, before reaching any of those milestones, a wedding must take place. Alexis and Gavin are overjoyed that the people who mean so much to them will be present on their wedding day, August 22nd, 2026. They have felt the love and support of so many throughout their lives and along this journey to their big day.
