We met in July of 2016 at the Sertoma softball fields. Garret was on a co-ed softball team with Alexis’s sister.

After spending the summer together, Alexis left for college at the University of South Dakota. Garret still kept in touch, and even went to Vermillion to visit a few times. When Alexis came back to Yankton for Thanksgiving break, we went on our first date at Fry’n Pan in Yankton.

Garret asked Alexis to officially be his girlfriend. While out to dinner with friends, Garret presented Alexis with an opal promise ring.

Alexis moved in after her freshamn year at USD.

We bought our house in August! The pandemic was the perfect opportunity for house hunting.

We took off on a vacation to the mountains in Colorado. On the last day of our vacation, Garret got down on his knee with a ring box in his hands!
