Wedding Party

Meet Our "I Do" Crew! We’re so excited to introduce you to the incredible family and friends who will be standing by our side on this special day. These are the people who have supported us, celebrated with us, and walked through life with us—now they’ll be walking down the aisle with us too! From our children, who are the heart of our blended family, to lifelong friends who have shared in our journey, each person in our "I Do" Crew holds a special place in our hearts. We are so thankful for their love, laughter, and unwavering support. Without them, this day wouldn’t be the same.

Eric McGuire

Groom

Eric is a dedicated Athletic Director, teacher, and proud father of two amazing kids—Brooklyn, 9, and Camden, 6. His journey with Alexis began thanks to a little nudge from his best friend Bret and Bret’s wife, Tasha. After a Facebook friend request and a memorable comment on a "Garage Clean-out" post, the rest, as they say, is history. From 5-hour phone calls to late-night conversations on the couch, it became clear that God works in mysterious ways. After both enduring difficult first marriages, love has been restored, and Eric fell for Alexis faster than he ever expected. Though he keeps his emotions close, he describes Alexis as driven, loving, and supportive to everyone around her. Now, he’s excited to marry his "dream girl" and can’t wait to share this special day with all of you.

Alexis Wilson

Bride

Alexis is a devoted kindergarten teacher, and amazing mother of two wonderful daughters, Emmy (6) and Ella (4). Soon to be Mrs. McGuire, met Eric when she least expected it through a mutual friend (Tasha). When Tasha tried playing matchmaker Alexis responded with, “lol I have no expectations.” But after weeks of conversation and meeting in person, she knew instantly that he was the one. Their first time meeting ended up being a couch conversation that lasted until 3 a.m. following with a text to Brooke and Sarah saying, “I think I just met my future husband!” From that moment on, their journey together has been filled with love, joy, and tons of adventure. Alexis feels deeply respected, cherished, and honored to be welcomed into the McGuire family and eagerly anticipates the new beginnings that lie ahead. Eric is truly the best thing she has ever found on the internet!

Christine McGuire

Mother of the Groom

Christine is the heart and soul behind two incredible sons, Eric & Adam. She’s done an amazing job instilling values, morals, and respect in her boys, and has always supported everything they’ve pursued—whether it was sports, Boy Scouts, or career dreams. As the mom of two boys and the only sister to three brothers, Christine knows how to hold her own with the guys, but trust, they all have a healthy respect (and a bit of fear) for her! She’s an amazing woman, full of wisdom, love, and strength, and everyone who knows her looks up to her with deep gratitude for everything she’s shared. Eric and Alexis appreciate her unwavering love and support in all they do.

Robert McGuire

Father of the Groom

Eric’s dad, “Bob”, has been an integral part of shaping the man he is today. Through his love, wisdom, and unwavering guidance, he molded and challenged Eric to always strive for more, while following the values and morals he instilled. Whether it was supporting him in sports, scouting, or academics, he was always there, encouraging Eric every step of the way. Even after Eric moved out, he’s been his go-to for help with anything—whether it’s around the house or working on a car. Now, seeing him as a grandfather has given Eric a whole new appreciation for the man he is, and who he aspires to be just like one day. Married to Chris 41 years and counting is truly an admiration to Alexis and Eric. They are so thankful for all that Bob does for their family.

Tami Klotz

Mother of the Bride

Tami, the bride’s beautiful and loving mom, has been an incredible influence in shaping the woman her daughter is today. Through her teachings of morals, values, respect, and cherished family traditions, Tami has been a guiding force throughout the bride’s life. The bride deeply values and admires her mom, looking up to her with gratitude for all the love and wisdom she has shared. Tami’s presence on this special day is one the bride holds especially dear.

Carl Klotz

Father of the Bride

Carl has been a cherished part of the bride’s life since 2016, bringing endless joy, unwavering support, and a great sense of humor to the family. His presence has been a true blessing, as he’s always there when needed and serves as an inspiration to everyone around him. The bride feels incredibly fortunate to have Carl as a father figure, and she couldn’t ask for a better dad to share in this special day.

Brooke Simpkiss

Matron of Honor

Brooke and the bride have shared a special bond since the eighth grade, when they first met and quickly became best friends. From cheering together through high school to sharing countless memories over the years, their friendship has only grown stronger. Now, they have the joy of watching their own little ones grow up together, creating the next generation of lifelong memories. Brooke has always been by the bride's side, and she couldn't imagine this special day without her best friend standing beside her once again.

Brianna Bowers

Officiant

Bri is the bride’s younger sister, and though they may be complete opposites, their bond is unbreakable. Growing up sharing a room, they experienced all the joys (and sibling clashes) that brought them closer together. No matter what, the love of a sister always shines through. Bri is not only an incredible sister but also the best aunt, always loving on the little ones and bringing fun and laughter to the family. The bride is beyond grateful to have her sister by her side on this special day.

Sarah Ramey

Bridesmaid

Sarah and the bride may have met later in life, but from the moment they became partner teachers, a deep friendship was born. Over the years, they’ve become inseparable, and Sarah has earned the title of the bride’s "utility husband" for always being there when needed whether it’s in the classroom or in life. From lesson plans to life plans, Sarah’s support and friendship mean the world to the bride, and she couldn’t imagine her special day without Sarah by her side.

Alyssa Koppenhaver

Bridesmaid

Alyssa has been a part of the bride's life since 2010, when she became Alexis' first boss and quickly grew into a trusted mentor and friend. Over the years, Alyssa has played a vital role in shaping the strong foundation of Alexis’ faith, offering guidance and support every step of the way. Together, they serve at UNITED Church, deepening their connection through shared faith and service. Alexis is incredibly grateful for Alyssa's wisdom and friendship, and she’s honored to have her by her side on this special day.

Taylor Pleasanton

Bridesmaid

Taylor and the bride have been friends since high school, where they bonded over matching Volkswagen Beetles and endless adventures. Though Taylor moved out of state for a few years, their friendship remained strong, with the amazing coincidence of both welcoming babies—Emmy and Remi—just 10 days apart! Now back in Delaware, they’ve picked up right where they left off, watching their girls grow and continuing to build on their lifelong friendship. In a fun twist of fate, Taylor’s brother and the bride’s brother married sisters, so they like to say they’re practically family now! The bride is thrilled to have Taylor by her side on her special day.

Adam McGuire

Best Man

Adam isn’t just the groom’s younger brother; he’s been his partner-in-crime for as long as he can remember. From the hallways of Polytech High School to their college years at Wesley College, they’ve shared countless memories, challenges, and laughs. Now, they’re both teachers, passionately supporting high school athletics and shaping the next generation. Adam's love for sports and his dedication to his students are inspiring, but even more so is the bond they’ve built over the years. Now grown with families of their own, Eric couldn’t imagine anyone else standing by his side as his Best Man.

Chris Kenton

Groomsman

Alexis and Eric first met Chris during their highschool years as their social studies teacher at Lake and PolyTech but over the years, he’s become so much more than a teacher. Like Eric, Chris is a fellow dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, and along with his wonderful wife, Shan, they’ve both helped Eric through some tough times and celebrated the good ones. Alexis worked alongside Shanann before Chris entered the picture and the rest is history. The couples took an unforgettable trip to Mexico together, and the newlyweds “to be” are hoping Shan helps pick an equally great spot for the honeymoon! Chris has been an amazing friend, colleague, and of course, Eric’s fantasy football adversary—though there’s always next year! The couple is so grateful to have Chris support them on their wedding day.

Rob Schumacher

Groomsman

Rob might often get mistaken for Eric’s dad, but in reality, he’s a great friend and colleague who shares passion for the world of Business Education, BPA. and sports. From BPA trips and trivia nights to many adventures in the B wing with Eric, Rob has been there through it all. His dedication to his students is inspiring, and his loyalty to the Washington Commanders (or whatever they’re called this year) is unshakable. Eric and Rob have a blast working together, cracking jokes, or enjoying a beer. Eric is excited to have him by his side as he enters this next chapter.

Brooklyn McGuire

Flower Girl

Brooklyn, the groom’s 9-year-old daughter, is a bright and beautiful girl who has her dad completely wrapped around her finger. Growing up fast, she brings grace and charm to her role as flower girl. The bride and groom are beyond excited to have Brooklyn as part of this special day, knowing she will make it even more unforgettable.

Emmy Wilson

Flower Girl

Emmy is the bride’s sweet and beautiful 6-year-old daughter, and her role as flower girl is one of the most special parts of the day. As the bride’s oldest daughter, Emmy brings joy and love to every moment, and her radiant smile is sure to light up the aisle. The bride couldn’t be prouder to have her precious girl play such an important part in the celebration!

Ella Wilson

Flower Girl

Ella, the bride’s 4-year-old daughter, is a spunky and silly little girl with a heart of gold. A true mama’s girl and the bride’s mini me, Ella brings endless joy with her sweet spirit and playful energy. Her excitement to be a flower girl is as big as her smile, and she’s sure to add even more love to this special day. The bride is overjoyed to have her precious, sweet Ella by her side!

Camden McGuire

Ring Bearer

Camden, the groom’s energetic 6-year-old son, is full of personality and always ready to have a good time. As the ring bearer, he’s sure to bring a fun and lively energy to the celebration. With his big spirit and playful nature, Camden will add an extra spark to the special day, and everyone is excited to see him shine in his important role!
