Alexis and Dustin are one of the many couples who had taken to the internet to find love. Alexis admits that it was the picture of Dustin's jeep and a photo of his Siberian husky, Bently, that compelled her to chat back and forth with Dustin. Chatting on a dating app quickly developed into texting, then to long phone calls, and finally the first date. For their first date, they met at a local movie theater to see the newest Insidious movie that was playing. Dustin arrived at the theater with his jeep and Alexis's favorite flowers, lilies! Dustin has said on occasion that he thought Alexis was "making a break for it" when she got up to use the bathroom during the movie. The two hit it off so well that after the movie they went to get ice cream and spent many hours in the parking lot while Alexis talked and Dustin ate his ice cream. Dustin had purchased a set of tickets for the couple to go see the Nationals play on their two-year anniversary. Since the game was in the evening, the two spent the day by exploring, trying out a new restaurant, and unashamedly playing pokemon go on their phones. The two stayed the duration of the entire game as they cheered on their Nationals and hoping for a come from behind win to complete their day. Unfortunately, they did not win.
