What is the dress code?

Answer

Leave those jeans at home! We would love to see all of our guests in Black Tie Formal wear. Floor Length dresses and suits are preferred.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive to the venue at least 15 minutes to the beginning of the ceremony. The ceremony will begin on time and guest not seated will not be permitted into the space.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

There will be a 45 minute intermission between the ceremony and reception to allow Ballroom at McKay staff to flip the space. For this time before cocktail hour, we recommend checking out local Grand Rapids bars like, Mojo's, Biggby Coffee, or Wisemen Distillery, all located within a 2-minute walking distance from the venue space. Cocktail hour will resume in the Ballroom afterwards.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have blocked out rooms at the Residence Inn by Marriott and AC Hotels. We are able to block one- or two-night stays. If you would like to book two days please book with Residence Inn. Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking is not provided by the Ballroom at McKay. Please utilize the Ellis Parking Ramp, located directly across from the venue. 130 Lyon St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love all the amazing kids in our lives, we are only able to accommodate who we have invited. If your invitation does not indicate a plus one or a child's name, they are not invited for this occasion.
