Phoenix Zoo

One of the oldest major attractions in Phoenix, and is the largest privately owned, non-profit zoo in the United States. They have a wide array of animals, including a massive section dedicated to the fauna of the Arizona desert, from rattlesnakes and Gila monsters to javelina and mountain lions! Since its opening in 1962 they've been focused on and at the forefront of conservation efforts in the Valley, including captive breeding for reintroduction and rescue and rehabilitation.
