We had always known of each other because I played basketball with Brayden’s sister in high school, but we didn’t officially meet until a family trip to Idaho at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes. My uncle invited Jason, and Brayden ended up coming along with his stepdad. That trip is where everything started. Our first date happened about two weeks after we got back to Kansas. We spent the night driving around, listening to music, and talking about life. Then our date took a bit of an unexpected turn when we saw a woman stranded on 8th Road north of Chase. I told Brayden we should stop and help her. He was pretty sure we were about to get robbed and didn’t want to stop at first, but thankfully I convinced him. She really did need help, so we took her to the sheriff’s department in Lyons before continuing our date. The rest of the night was spent driving around, listening to music, laughing, and getting to know each other. At the end of the night Brayden didn’t kiss me, so I went home thinking maybe he didn’t like me. Turns out he was just nervous! The next week when we hung out again, he asked me to be his girlfriend — so I guess he did like me after all. Ever since that trip in Idaho, we’ve been inseparable. We truly are each other’s best friends, and we’re so excited to start this next chapter of life together. We can’t wait to say “I do”. ❤️💍
