Depending on which one of us you ask, you'll get a different answer to "How did y'all meet?" But regardless of how it all lined up (a dating app, mutual friends, Bratie's persistence, or really just an act of God), we eventually did meet on a beautiful Saturday in a cozy coffeeshop in the small town of Hammond. And from the moment we met, sparks flew. Though neither one of us were much accustomed to spontaneity (outside of last minute trips to foreign countries on Bratie's end), our approach to this relationship has been adventurous from the start...Bratie's accompanying me to my childhood friend's couple's shower only hours after that coffee date is a prime example of this...and everyone who knows us laughs about it to this day. What can I say? Bratie made me want to live life more fully from the get-go! The Holy Ghost undoubtedly brought us together on May 3, 2025. And every day since, He has brought us closer together. Through laughing as we learn each other's quirks (definitely a mutual thing), navigating the twists and turns that life throws at us, and most importantly, pursuing the same end goal - eternal life with Him - our relationship gets richer by the day. Both Bratie and I admit that neither of us has ever been more challenged to grow; and yet, neither of us has ever felt more at peace, knowing that together, we are more equipped than ever to go about this life with the ambitions we individually brought to our relationship. Nothing better could've happened to two driven, stubborn people, than providing them with a love like ours. Bratie often reminds me that our wedding day will be the day of our marriage where we love each other the least - our love will only grow. And I will never forget those words of wisdom. Though it is naive to think that marriage will always by sunshine and rainbows, I know with certainty, ours will always be founded by true love. A sacrificial, life-giving love. That passing time and circumstances will only enrich. By the grace of God alone. That is infinitely more reassuring than the promise of a life of happiness. So anyways, we can't wait to get married. To start this journey, together. And we can't wait to have y'all there to celebrate the beginning of forever with us❤️
