What should I expect when attending a Catholic Wedding Mass?

Answer

Thank you for joining us in celebrating and praying for our marriage! For those who are unfamiliar with the Mass, we will have Mass guides to help you follow along and participate! Due to the sacredness of the liturgy, please refrain from using your cell phone and having conversations during the Mass. Additionally, please have your shoulders, chest, and back covered for modesty.

What time should I arrive for Mass?

Answer

Please arrive 15-30 minutes early and enter the sanctuary in silence to maintain a prayerful atmosphere as our guests prepare themselves for Mass.

What should I wear?

Answer

Please wear formal attire. Ladies: if wearing a dress or skirt, please choose a hemline below the knee. We also ask that your shoulders, chest, and back are covered. Gentlemen: no need to wear a tux, but please no jeans. We also ask that you do not wear hats while inside the church.

Can I take photos during your wedding?

Answer

Due to the sacredness of the Mass, please refrain from using your phone and taking photos during Mass. We have hired a wonderful photographer to capture each and every beautiful moment. We do encourage you to take photos at our reception!

What can I expect at the reception?

Answer

The reception venue is about 30 minutes from our church but the reception will not begin until 5pm so no need to rush over! Multiple protein & side options will be served, catering to a variety of dietary needs, but please note there will be no alcohol at our wedding celebration. The bride and groom, on behalf of The Barn at McCall Springs, request that no outside alcohol is brought to any events during the day.
