Billy and I met on a dating app called Tinder in 2019. Billy’s profile consisted of pictures of him at concerts and one of him sleeping with a pizza slice in his hand. His caption read, “Put me out of my Missouri.” I knew I had to meet him. We immediately started texting every day and planned a meetup where I invited him over to my apartment to drink tequila lemonades. I ended up working a late shift, and instead of canceling on him, I asked if he was okay with meeting later in the night. Of course, he said yes. After my shift, I raced back to my apartment. Billy was on his way, but his phone was about to die. He got lost, and, of course, his phone died. There I was, waiting on the side of the road, looking for a boy I’d never met in a red Honda Accord. After a few minutes, I saw the red Honda Accord pull up, and there he was, with his long, dark curly hair. He was wearing a GOLF shirt. From my Tinder profile, my Spotify showed the artists I frequently listen to, and one of them was Tyler, the Creator, who owns the GOLF brand. I could tell he wanted to impress me. We talked for hours about music, life, travel, goals, and school. It was such an amazing night that we went on a lunch date the very next day to get Chipotle, and we’ve been together every day since.
