Midnight at the Yacht Club

The Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us.

Madison Grandys

Maid of Honor

Madison is Alexis’s only sibling and is two years younger. Growing up, they played travel soccer together and were brown-belt taekwondo sparring partners. Madison went on to play college soccer at the University of Illinois Springfield, where she met her now-husband, Rory. Alexis had the privilege of being Madison’s Maid of Honor last September, and now the roles are happily reversed. Madison and Rory currently live in London; Alexis and Alex plan to visit them in May 2027. Madison plans to use her MBA in marketing while exploring Europe!

Cole Davis

Best Man

Cole and Alex first met in 2018 when Cole visited the cross country program at UT Martin as a senior in high school. Through their years at UTM, a summer in Flagstaff, camping trips to Lake Powell and Talladega, and a dozen other adventures, they’ve grown into an unstoppable duo. From fixing cars to building double-decker couches to installing an indoor hot tub, they always find a way to have fun together. Cole currently resides in Clarksville, TN with his wife Catey, working as an engineer in the manufacturing industry.

Nicole Greyer

Bridesmaid

Nicole has been one of Alexis’s best friends since they met in high school in 2015, where they ran cross country and track together. They trained and competed side by side, earning the nickname “the Capital G’s” from their coach thanks to their shared last-name initial. Nicole also took Alexis on her first ski trip to Breckenridge, CO in 2017, where she quickly learned that Alexis cannot ski. Nicole attends occupational therapy school in Los Angeles and graduates in May of 2027. She is passionate about pursuing a career in pediatrics. Nicole frequently visits her family in Colorado, where they ski!

Lenny Baumann

Groomsman

Alex first met Lenny in August of 2018 at UT Martin. Having similar personal bests on the track, Alex and Lenny immediately became training partners and would run thousands of miles together over the years. They were underdogs willing to grind harder than anyone to earn their spots. Through a shared work ethic, a silly sense of humor, and a love for terrible pizza, they became friends for the long haul. Lenny lives in his hometown of Bourbonnais, IL, with his wife Emily and their dog Elwood, where he works in a lab with his biology degree and shares his D1 running pedigree as a cross country coach.

Kaitlyn Loyet

Bridesmaid

Kaitlyn and Alexis met on the cross country team at UT Martin in 2022. Although Kaitlyn is 4 years younger than Alexis, they instantly clicked and did everything together in Martin. With limited options in the small Martin town, Martin Coffee House became their favorite spot. They were also known for cooking at UTM cross country team parties, with hashbrowns being the most memorable. Kaitlyn has always been the life of the party and can make any day a great one. Kaitlyn is now a postpartum registered nurse in St. Louis with her dog, Beau! Kaitlyn still runs in her free time, training for some half marathons.

Donnie Fry

Groomsman

Donnie and Alex first met in 2017 on the cross country team at Western Kentucky University. Alex and Donnie quickly became friends because they were both quick to say yes to an adventure. Whether it was a trip to the skatepark on a RZR scooter, running a beer mile on a softball field, spring break in Miami, or a two-week trip across Europe, Donnie is always the first to say yes and start packing the car. Donnie lives in his hometown of Louisville, KY, with his girlfriend Maddy and their cat Clay. He works as a Community Manager at a local run specialty shop.

Madison Mills

Bridesmaid

Madison was one of the very first people Alexis met in veterinary school in 2023. From the moment they met, Madison knew they would click. Along with Malone, the three have been inseparable since day one of their four-year journey. Madison has always been the one to ease the stress, remind everyone to step away, have fun, and take care of themselves. She is an avid hockey lover who quickly got Alexis hooked and is always the first to say yes to a Vols football tailgate, a spontaneous drive, or anything that doesn’t involve studying. Madison is now a 4th year in clincials and plans to move to Charleston, SC, after graduation with her two cats, Opal and Onyx.

Will Graves

Groomsman

Alex met Will in the fall of 2018 when he arrived on campus at UTM. The two quickly became friends through their shared immature sense of humor and common interests in disc golf and the outdoors. During their summer in Flagstaff, in their time off from petitioning, they completed the entire Flagstaff Brewery Trail together on bicycles, drinking a pint (or two) at each destination. Later, Will dragged both Austin and Alex through a 75 mile point to point stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail, running the map, filtering the water, and patiently teaching them everything they should have learned ahead of time. Will now lives in Santa Monica, CA, where he works as an engineer at a leading medtech firm.

Lydia Souran

Bridesmaid

In 2024, Lydia and Alexis met at the University of Tennessee’s Veterinary school when Alexis was paired as Lydia’s “big,” and the two instantly formed a bond. From the start, it felt like fate, especially after realizing they both attended Central Michigan University, where Lydia completed her undergrad, and Alexis spent her first year. Not only do they live practically next door, but they also bond over hiking, cooking/baking, and their love for veterinary surgery! Lydia is one of the most positive people that Alexis has ever met and is always brightening up a room. Lydia is now a third-year veterinary student at UT and wants to pursue a special interest in surgery.

Austin Rogers

Groomsman

Austin and Alex met when Alex joined the UTM cross country team in the fall of 2018. Always up for a good time, they spent many nights hitting balls at the range, biking to the bars, and seeking out fun wherever they could find it in Martin. During a summer in Flagstaff, they did more of the same while balancing their jobs as petitioners. They also grew closer through the shared adventure of being completely unprepared for a 75-mile unassisted trek through Yosemite with Will. Austin now lives in his hometown of Las Vegas, NV, where he works as a financial advisor.

Malone Young

Bridesmaid

Malone and Alexis first met in 2023 when they began their first year of veterinary school. Malone is always the prepared one when the group goes out, earning her the title of ‘the group mom.’ Whether Alexis needed a Band-Aid in class, a charger, or a snack because she was hangry, Malone had it all in her never-ending Mary Poppins bag. She’s someone everyone can count on, no matter what or when. Malone has hosted countless group dinners, game nights, and movie nights. Malone is also the cook of the group, the buffalo chicken dip being one of Alexis' favorites! Malone is currently in clinicals while also taking care of a small zoo at home (two dogs, two cats, one frog, one chameleon, and two rabbits). She aspires to pursue feline medicine or emergency medicine, potentially in the Northwest.

Taylor Scarbrough

Groomsman

Taylor and Alex first met on the cross country team at WKU in 2017. It took Alex a semester to catch up, but by spring they were running workouts together and pushing each other to be better. Drawn together by similar ambitions on the track and in life, they stayed connected after both transferring to other universities to finish their collegiate running careers. After a trip across Europe and countless long phone calls about business and finance, the two friends are closer than ever. Taylor lives in his hometown of Atlanta, GA, where he’s using his finance degree to explore small business entrepreneurship.

Marley Cavanaugh

Jr. Bridesmaid

Marley is Alex’s oldest niece, one of seven. Alex and Marley have always shared a special bond, and Alexis has been lucky to get to know her over the last six years, since she was three years old. We couldn’t imagine celebrating without her by our side!
