Depending on who in the couple you ask, the story is told differently.... In May of 2016, Alexis was having a girls night when she asked friend Kayla Clark to set her up with one of her friends. Kayla said she had just the guy in mind and his name was James. James and Kayla went to the same high school and according to James, he had been waiting to shoot his shot with Alexis for months. So during that girls night in May, Kayla told James to text Alexis and shoot his shot....he scored.

All summer they talked and went on dates, getting close very quickly. As the summer was coming to an end, they officially became exclusive before heading into sophomore year of college. With James at Old Dominion University and Alexis at James Madison University, they would spend the rest of their college years making the 3 hour drive more times than you can imagine. In 2018, James was deployed to Abu Dhabi for 6 months where there is a 9 hour time difference. This was hard for them both but would contribute to the strength and success of their relationship. After graduation, Alexis moved to Charlottesville and began her first Registered Nurse position while James continued working on his degree in Norfolk. Although their careers were flourishing, they both knew that ultimately they wanted to continue their lives together in the same city. In 2021, they moved back to Northern Virginia together, starting a new chapter in their lives. That chapter got some slobber and fur added when Cesar came into their lives, becoming the very spoiled fur baby we all know today. According to the calendar, James and Alexis will have already been together 8 years before tying the knot in October 2024. The wedding is the next chapter in their forever story and they can not wait to have you be apart of it.
